Grand Opening of Roku At Trinoma

Any Japanese Food Lovers Here?
Well you gotta read this!

Last week, I was invited to attend a grand opening of a new Japanese
restaurant at Trinoma named Roku. It has been two years since
ROKU first opened its doors to the Katipunan crowd,
which has now become a go-to Japanese place for
 students, families, and officemates.

I'm pretty sure that it would be the same at their Trinoma branch.
Aside from the affordable sumptuous Japanese food, the location is very accessible.

So now, are you guys excited to know what happened at the grand opening party of Roku?

But, before that i would like to share some fun facts about Roku :)

ROKU is a casual Japanese restaurant owned by mother and daughter
tandem Shiela and Milka Romero. Roku means "six" in Japanese as they
are 6 in the family and from that alone, the restaurant embodies the
family sharing atmosphere Pinoys are accustomed to.

It all started in their's family love for Japanese cuisine making it to be their
comfort food all the time.

Ms. Milka's personal insight in the lack of good quality Japanese casual
restaurants near her university pushed her to create a concept where students can enjoy
without hurting their wallets. Soon enough, her love for Japanese food made her study more
about it and later on added her take on the dishes making it palatable to the Filipino
crowd but with an updated mix of ingredients and a whole new aesthetic. With the mentorship
of her mother, in the year 2013, ROKU finally found itself rising on the 5th floor of the Oracle
hotel along Katipunan avenue.

The story of ROKU is indeed amazing!
If you really put love on your work it will definitely become successful.
It's not just about putting up her own business,
It's all about her love for Japanese food
and sharing it with other people.

Going back to the grand opening party..

It was a night full of great music courtesy of Curtismith
It was actually a star-studded grand opening party,
Some of the celebrities spotted were
Karylle, Lauren Young, Erik Santos and Dra. Vicky Belo.

Friends and patrons from the Ayala top management,
bloggers, and media were also present to grace the grand opening event.

Ofcourse, a grand opening night isn't complete without trying out their food.

Here's the menu

Here's what I've tasted.

Firecracker Roll (P249.00)

Dream Roll (P259.00)

Gyudon (P259.00)
Note: Food photo taken below are just sampler size.

Chashu Soyu Tonkotsu (P289.00)

S.S Roll (P249.00)

You know what, I am really not into Japanese food.
I just love Pork tonkatsu & Ramen , and that's it.
I really don't like the taste of sushi and sashimi but after this grand opening event.
Everything was different! I can now eat sushi rolls and i can't believe that
i love them now! I'm actually craving for more firecracker and dream roll of Roku.

I am really shocked and amazed with the price ranges.
They offer a delicious Japanese food and at the same time
it's very budget friendly.

This is really a perfect comfort place to dine out with family and friends.
